Dutch-born, Paris-based photographer Winter Vandenbrink returns with Wolves, his latest photobook published by IDEA.

Photographed over nearly 15 years across Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, and Venice, Wolves looks at teenage boys not as individuals, but as part of a group. Rather than focusing on style or fashion, Vandenbrink observes the subtle ways young people move together, share space, and form their identities through friendship and belonging.

Known for his intimate photographs of youth culture, Vandenbrink captures quiet moments that feel both documentary and cinematic. His subjects gather on street corners, lean against one another, rest, wait, and watch. These everyday scenes reveal the unspoken dynamics of adolescence, where the desire to stand out exists alongside the need to belong.

Building on ideas first explored in Vandals, Wolves shifts the focus from individual portraits to the collective. The result is a thoughtful study of masculinity, friendship, and the shared experiences of growing up in contemporary Europe.

Designed by Linda van Deursen, the book is also a remarkable physical object, featuring folded poster elements integrated into its design. More than a collection of photographs, Wolves reflects Vandenbrink's continued exploration of youth, identity, and the spaces young people create for themselves.

A compelling new photobook from one of today's most distinctive photographers of contemporary youth culture.
