A rare Bruce Weber title, published in 2014 in a limited edition of only 500 numbered copies. This is the first issue of the EY! Boy Collection series published by Luis Venegas, brought together some of the greatest photographers—including Bruce Weber, Ryan McGinley, Walter Pfeiffer, Steven Klein, and Jack Pierson—to explore masculinity and youth.
For this project, Bruce Weber followed Florida-born Garrett Taber over time, creating an intimate portrait of a young man at a turning point in his life.
Weber said he had only made one long-term project like this before—with Peter Johnson. That body of work later became his celebrated film and book Chop Suey. Seeing something similar in Garrett, Weber returned to the idea of documenting youth, change, and the years between adolescence and adulthood.
Rather than simply making portraits, Weber captures Garrett growing into himself, creating a personal story that feels honest, quiet, and timeless.
