Among Karl Lagerfeld's many photography books, The Beauty of Violence stands out as a rare example centred on a male muse.

Published in 2010, the book features French model Baptiste Giabiconi, one of Lagerfeld's most recognisable muses at the time.

Across a series of black-and-white photographs, Giabiconi takes on a range of expressive poses and moods, moving between intensity, vulnerability, and theatrical gestures.

Lagerfeld explores the relationship between physical expression and classical beauty, creating images that feel dramatic, bold, and sometimes unexpected.

Now out of print, The Beauty of Violence offers a different look at Lagerfeld's photographic work and his fascination with the male figure.
