London-based photographer Rosie Harriet Ellis presents her debut book, 'The Boyfriend Casting' — an intimate and daring exploration of love, consent, and desire. The project began when an ex-boyfriend withdrew his consent to be photographed, pushing Ellis to rethink how intimacy and image-making overlap in her life and work.

Over the next five years, she turned her camera toward new lovers, using photography as a way to navigate grief, longing, and the complexities of reversed objectification. What emerges is both a clinical study of the male form and a deeply personal reflection on relationships, power, and vulnerability.

Mixing raw portraits, shifting photographic styles, and diary-like reflections, The Boyfriend Casting reveals the contradictions of love and obsession, and the blurred line between personal experience and artistic expression.
