Back in the 1970s and 80s, commercial gay magazines like Barazoku, Adon, MLMW, Sabu, The GAY, and SAMSON were being published one after another in Japan. At the time, coming out wasn’t as common as it is today, and flipping through these magazines now reveals a world where people expressed their feelings quietly—through illustrations, photos, and words that filled the pages.
